Our journey in Bali
The Bali Family Foundation (BFF) was established on 14 May 2019 in the east village of Pengalon.
Expanding our help to families in the northern village of Tinga Tinga in 2023, and transitioning to the official Yayasan - Fondasi Keluarga Bali on 1 July 2025.
We are a community of like-hearted people providing support to families in Bali living in extreme poverty in the villages and their surrounding areas.
Our dedicated teams in Australia and Bali are 100% volunteer run and ensure that every act of support reaches the right people, delivered with honesty,
transparency, and deep respect — protecting both the dignity of the families we serve and the trust of our donors, so no one is ever taken advantage of.
Our unique approach to support
What truly sets us apart is our zero-overhead model, ensuring maximum impact. Every dollar and donation goes directly to the people who need it most, and you can see it delivered first-hand.
Members of our team live within the very villages we support, giving us a deep, lived understanding of daily realities and challenges. This allows us to respond with care, respect, and accuracy, not assumptions.
We don’t believe in rigid, one-size-fits-all solutions. Every family, every situation, and every need is different. That’s why our approach is personal, flexible, and community-led — from meeting basic survival needs to empowering long-term self-sufficiency and independence.

We offer many meaningful ways to make a difference. From donating used clothes and essential items when visiting Bali, to contributing to our monthly Rice Run collections for unsponsored families, or sponsoring a family with food and essential support. Every way you can contribute directly changes lives.
Beyond immediate relief, we are deeply committed to long-term, sustainable solutions. With a small but powerful kick-start, we help families turn opportunity into lasting stability, building lives grounded in value, determination, and self-reliance.
We’ve also provided livestock programs, empowering people to generate income through breeding and sales, creating reliable long-term support systems that multiply across the community.
Crucially, we invest in education — supporting children from kindergarten through to university — helping break the cycle of poverty for generations and creating pathways to brighter, independent futures.
This isn’t just charity. It’s community, providing self-worth, and lasting change.
Our vision for a brighter Bali
Our hope for the future is villages where educated children grow into employed adults who can support their families. Where the elderly are socially connected, sleep on real bedding instead of hard floors, and live free from the fear of where their next meal will come from — able to spend their final years in peace and with a sense of pride.
We envision communities where those living with impairment or disability are supported with understanding, inclusion, and acceptance, and where villages are clean, safe, and thriving — places of opportunity, care, and shared responsibility.
Through compassion, community support, and long-term commitment, we strive to create lasting positive change that strengthens generations, not just individuals.
