July has been epic!

We achieved the astronomical goal of sponsoring all 195 school and kindy children needing support. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our members, no child in our villages will miss out on education because of poverty this year! We collected 255 bags of rice for our Rice Run and rallied around two families during difficult times.

There were also some wonderful milestones to celebrate. One of our village children proudly won a gold medal in boxing, our recent graduate, Rosa secured a fantastic job, and we welcomed a beautiful new BFF grandbaby into our family.

Our elderly members enjoyed two fun-filled Bingo Happy Hours and all were delighted to win food prizes to help support their households. Many families were spoilt by visiting sponsors and cheeky Angga D even got the mobile phone he had wished for!

Wow, what a month June has been for BFF!

As the cost of living continued to rise in Bali, we made the difficult decision to increase the cost of our food parcels. Once again, our incredible members stepped up, ensuring our families continued to receive the support they rely on.

We also completed the huge task of reconciling the education needs across both villages, identifying 159 school students requiring support and securing sponsorship for 140 of them! As expected, our Rice Run received a little less support while education became the priority, but thankfully Ela and her family rallied together to ensure no one went hungry.

We also celebrated our Sweet Girl receiving a brand-new motorbike from her generous sponsors, and quickly rallied around another family facing a desperate time of need.

May was another fulfilling month for BFF, with our membership continuing to grow and a further 4 families becoming fully sponsored. We helped a family in need become self-sustaining and thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we now have just 6 families still requiring sponsorship, with a combined need of less than $280 per month.

We also celebrated 7 years of BFF with a wonderful birthday party in the Pengalon Community Garden, a truly joyful occasion for the whole community.

During the month, 11 members visited, witnessing firsthand the impact of BFF and connecting with the families. Our kindergarten children graduated and Bossy began the important work of educating school children about personal safety and their right to speak up.

April has been another big month for BFF. Our membership and contributor numbers have increased again, and we were thrilled to see a further 6 families become fully sponsored.

With the addition of two new families, we now have just 8 families remaining who require ongoing support. April saw significant use of our Emergency Fund, with $446 spent assisting those in urgent need. We are incredibly grateful to have had the funds available to respond when it mattered most.

Our villagers also celebrated some wonderful achievements. Rosa graduated from university, and Artist Boy successfully sold 11 of his paintings in a fiercely contested auction—an incredible result.

This month, we’ve seen another increase in both our member and contributor numbers, which is wonderful. We’ve also grown the number of fully sponsored families.

We met our minimum Rice Run requirement and went on to exceed it by 30 bags, finishing just  short of our overall goal, a fantastic collective effort.

It’s been a busy month on the ground, with many member visits bringing connection, energy, and joy into the villages. We were able to support a high school student and his family, giving them renewed hope for the future, and Villa Adelayam is now full of chickens, happily producing a steady supply of eggs.

Today, we’re sharing our February Snapshot of Kindness, and across all metrics we have seen improvement.

In just a few short weeks, we have launched our brand-new website, started our Instagram page, built a chicken coop in the Pengalon community    garden, secured funding for the playground, and launched our monthly report!

That’s a significant amount of impact for one month.
